A bit overpriced, but at least I know I'm getting a quality tyre and not some rubbish that's made in china. Mine are made in Slovenia. The road noise on these is acceptable, and pretty much the same as the Conti EcoContact 5 tyres which were fitted as OEM on my car. Traction is good. Steering response seems to be responsive, if not a little touchy, which is good on most counts but sometimes I feel like I'm having to make too many small corrections. Overall a good tyre, though having driven only a few thousand kilometres so far, it's hard to give an accurate opinion. I got over 100,000kms out of my old Continental EcoContact 5 tyres, and I'll be impressed if I get the same sort of mileage out of these Continental PremiumContact 5 tyres as well. In future, I'd probably just stick with the EcoContact 5 for reasons of similar performance for a lower price.

The best thing about these tyres is the wet weather grip. It's the best wet weather tyre I have ever had.

Very good all round feel of the road, and good value for money. However....the construction of these tyres is a lot softer than any previous tyres I've owned, and, in less than 1500 miles, I have picked up 2 punctures (both times in the tread centres), which is probably the amount of punctures I have suffered during 45 years of driving. Unlucky? Maybe, but I sense that these tyres are nowhere near as rigid/resilient to punctures as the majority of tyres on the market. I won't be buying Continentals again, based on my experience.

Great all round tyre to live with. Excellent feel of the road in wet and dry conditions, although not so clever in light snow, without dropping the pressures down, and then manageble. All in all, I would buy these again, as the tread pattern and value are spot on

They perform O.K. The ride is slightly harsher than the last set of Continental Contact 5's I had on.

Why This Tyre?

What's the Pros And Cons?

Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 UTQG 280 AA A

Compare and Rate Your Tyre on its Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature

tyre-size

280 AA A

•  280 Treadwear:
This grade represents the tyre's expected life/duration, ranging between 100 to 1000. Usually, the higher the treadwear rating, the longer the tyre life.

•  AA Traction:
This grade represents the tyre's capability to stop on wet asphalt and pavement. Ratings are expressed in letter form, with AA being the highest and C as the lowest.

•  A Temperature:
This grade represents the tyre's heat resistance ability, with A as the highest and C as the lowest. Heat build-up causes the rubber to break down faster, which can cause blowouts. The higher the temperature rating, the longer the tyre life and the higher the speed rating.

The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 is an Asymmetrical Tyre

tyre-size

Asymmetrical tread patterns combine different tread types to deliver maximum wet and dry road grip via its inner and middle tread, while outside, larger and rigid tread blocks dominate the design to improve cornering.

To avoid fitting mistakes, asymmetrical tyres are labelled "outside" and "inside only" so you know if they will face your vehicle or out.

Continental OEM Tyres

The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 provides Original Equipment fitment for many vehicles including the Nissan Note Accenta Premium and the Skoda Roomster SE TDI.

Continental's engineers designed a bespoke tyre specifically for these new vehicle models.

Each OEM tyre is engineer-tested to ensure it meets the performance, safety, and fuel efficiency standards that benefit the vehicle.

Continental Run-Flat Tyre

The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 also comes in an SSR Run flat tyre version.

No need for a spare tyre. You can get to the nearest petrol station without changing your flat tyre.

SSR or "Self-supporting run-flat tire" is Continental's unique run-flat innovation that keeps tyres compatible with all standard rims for easier wheel alignment and other services.
